If you are planning a wedding in another country, check the rules before you decide on the location. For example, some interfaith marriages are prohibited in Greece. And you might need the documents translated in Italian before you can get married legally.
The reason why destination weddings are becoming popular is because they usually cost lesser as some hotels and resorts have wedding packages. The guest list for a wedding reception at another destination is more intimate and you actually get to enjoy a vacation with extended family and friends. However, you need to keep in mind that you will not know the vendors that are catering to your needs during the wedding. You will also have to think about required vaccinations, passports, proper documentation and residency.
