Choosing A Color Palette For Your Custom Wedding Invitations at www.PrintE-Z.comAside from the standard wedding white, with silver and/or gold trimmings, your wedding should feature some kind of color palette. We spoke about this briefly in previous posts, how matching the custom wedding invitations to the season makes them more memorable and professional looking—but we never really discussed color theory or therapy and what role colors play wedding invitations and the manner in which they are interpreted.

When selecting colors for your custom wedding invitations, consider the connotations represented by each color. Red is associated with love, but it is also closely tied with courage, strength, vitality, sexuality, and confidence. Orange represents sociability, happiness, and success. Yellow sunny color, is known for optimism, wisdom, and clarity. These are hot colors.

The cool colors also reflect our thoughts, green with peace, renewal, love, and hope; blue with creativity, health, and open communication, and indigo and violet with serenity, understanding, generosity, and beauty. Blues and purples are also very commonly associated with regalia.

Then you get the in-betweens like pink, brown, and combinations. Pink is gentle, relaxing, and calming. Browns and earth tones are also very calming and natural.

Basically you want to pick colors that you not only both agree on, but reflect what words you want people to associate with you and the event. It may be subconscious but it’s a nice little wink at design theory.
