The day you send out custom wedding invitations is one of the happiest moments of the whole process. But it may seem like a complicated one as well. The envelope should include several pieces, not just the formal invitation card but also its counterparts. These complementary elements make the invitation much more heartfelt and thoughtful.
Although many people now own a GPS, it is customary to include some kind of local map. This could be printed on a small slip of paper with just a few of the adjacent roads around the venue and after-party restaurant. Give a few details like places to park, hotels to stay, and local hotspots. It is a great way to introduce people to the neighborhood, especially if they’re coming a long distance for your special day.
Reception cards are more common when you intend to invite some people to the wedding but not the actual reception afterward. Those lucky few that get chosen to join the party will get this extra note in the same design as the custom wedding invitations you chose.
If you plan a vacation wedding or have a lot of far-traveling guests, then you must absolutely include the hotel information and reservation instructions. Also, be sure to notify them if the hotel requests they mention they’re part of the wedding party so they can book rooms nearby one another. Be sure to include the basic room rate and contact information.
And one of the most obvious inclusions is the reply card. An RSVP is your way of counting the amount of guests you expect to attend. It must have a deadline so that you can inform the venue if anything changes in the number of guests. Be sure you give them a pre-labeled return envelope for convenience.
